Who we are
RainbowNews is an international online news platform. The editorial team is responsible for this website and the associated data processing.
What data we collect
- Newsletter signups. Signing up for our newsletter? We store your email address. We use it only to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of each newsletter.
- Contact form. Sending us a message via the contact form? We store your name, email address and your message. We use this data only to respond.
- Visit data. We track anonymously how many people visit our site, which pages they read, and which country they come from. We do not use tracking cookies for this. We do not know who you are.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not place tracking cookies for advertising.
- We do not share your email address with other parties.
- We do not collect data we do not need.
How long we keep your data
- Newsletter: as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we delete your email address within thirty days.
- Contact form messages: at most six months after response. After that we delete the message.
- Visit data: at most one year, then anonymized and aggregated.
Your rights
- Access. You may ask what data we hold about you.
- Erasure. You may ask for deletion of your data.
- Correction. You may ask for correction of incorrect data.
- Objection. You may object to our data processing.
- Data portability. You may request your data in a readable format.

Third parties
We use these services:
- Supabase (database storage) — server in the European Union
- Vercel (website hosting) — server in the European Union
- Resend (email delivery) — only for contact form replies
Cookies
We use only functional cookies. These are needed to make the website work properly. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Complaints
Have a complaint about our privacy policy? Contact us first via the contact page. Cannot reach a resolution with us? You can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
Changes
We may change this privacy policy. The date of the last change is shown at the bottom of this page. We announce major changes on the homepage.
